Installation procedure:
1- Click the link below to download the new driver for your Hercules DJ product.
2- Once the download is complete, double-click the installation file and follow these instructions to install the new driver.
NOTE: At the end of the installation, you may be prompted to update your firmware version if you have not already updated it. Please be sure to strictly follow the on-screen instructions for this very important procedure.
Changes :
- Fixes 2 issues under MAC OS 10.6.4 (Volume slider issue in the control panel and issue in the creation of the aggregate driver needed in some versions of VirtualDJ DJC).

Installation :
1- Uninstall the previous driver version:
(Windows Vista / 7): Click Start/Control Panel /Programs/Uninstall a program, then uninstall Hercules DJConsole Series drivers .
(Windows XP) : Click Start/Settings/Control Panel /Add or Remove Programs then uninstall Hercules DJConsole Series drivers.
Alternatively, you can simply launch this package: it will uninstall the previous drivers for you.
2- Restart your PC.
3- Following these instructions to install the new drivers.
4- At the end of the installation, you may be prompted to update your firmware version if your console doesn’t use the most recent version. Please be sure to strictly follow the on-screen instructions for this very important procedure.
5- You are now ready to use your DJ device.

The Linux package (Linux driver and control panel) are distributed in the hope that it will be useful but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY: without even the implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
There is no technical support for this Linux package, neither through the hot line or the email service.
There are separate packages for the drivers and the control panel.
The drivers and the control panel have been tested on (x86 and x86-64 platforms):
- Ubuntu 8.10
- Mandriva 2009
- Mint 6
- Fedora 10(drivers: you must install the kernel symbols from the package manager)
- OpenSuse 11.1(drivers: you must install dkms manually from DELL website, and kernel symbols from the package manager).

Description :
The hdj_mod kernel module currently supports the following Hercules DJ controller:
- Hercules DJ Console Rmx
- Hercules DJ Control Steel
- Hercules DJ Console Mk2
- Hercules DJ Control MP3

Install Notes :
Before proceeding with the installation, be sure that your DJ Console has been updated to the appropriate firmware version:
- Hercules DJ Console Rmx: Fimrware v29 or +
- Hercules DJ Control Steel: Fimrware v13 or +
- Hercules DJ Console Mk2: Fimrware v15 or +
**Fimrware update must be performed on a computer running Windows or MAC OS operating system.**
1) Fedora 10:
- Kernel symbols must be installed from the package manager before the kernel module package is installed
2) OpenSuse 11.1:
- Kernel symbols must be installed from the package manager before the kernel module package is installed.
- DKMS must be installed prior to the kernel module installation. DKMS can be downloaded from the DELL website (http://linux.dell.com/dkms/)
3) In general, the distribution should be set up in order to compile kernel modules (Notes 1 and 2 above ensure this for Fedora and OpenSuse, and the other cited distributions should be immediately ready).
